Chris Hartley is a Research Fellow in the City Futures Research Centre. Chris has a research focus in housing and homelessness with a special interest in:

·       The intersection of disability and homelessness.

·       Trauma informed care social policy

·       Research co-design with people with a lived experience of homelessness

·       Social housing policy

·       International human rights law and homelessness

·       Outcomes measurement in specialist homelessness services

Chris has led and participated in numerous inquiries and research projects for the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) and co-authored the Australian Homelessness Monitor in 2020 and 2022.

Chris has a decade of experience in the homelessness sector, having worked as the Senior Policy Officer with Homelessness NSW and Policy Officer/Solicitor with the Homeless Persons’ Legal Service.
