CFRC’s Hal Pawson to advise National Housing Conference program

City Futures Research Centre Associate Director Professor Hal Pawson has been appointed as a Program Adviser for the National Housing Conference 2017, which will be held in Sydney later this year. 

Convened by the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) in partnership with the NSW Department of Family and Community Services (FACS), the biennial conference is the largest social and affordable housing event in Australasia.

The conference theme, Building for better lives will examine a range of priority topics that will help build a secure, inclusive and affordable housing system in Australia. Topics to be examined include policies to improve housing affordability at all levels, competition and choice in social housing, the continued transformation of the homelessness sector, financing mechanisms to improve housing supply, the future of the private rental sector and more.

Professor Pawson, who is also the AHURI Research Centre Director for UNSW, will join a number of experts from across Australia to provide specialist advice on the conference program which will feature at least 100 speakers across more than 30 sessions, over three days.
