Cities & Health - new journal seeking submissions

Urban farming in Seattle

Professor Susan Thompson, head of our City Wellbeing Program, is delighted to announce the creation of the new journal Cities & Health, of which she is a founding editor. Submissions are now open for the journal’s first issue, which is due to launch in early 2017.

Cities & Health aims to provide an innovative new international platform for consolidating research and know-how for city development to support human health. The journal will publish papers and commentary from researchers and practitioners working to build stronger relationships and a better understanding for supporting healthier cities.

Cities & Health welcomes contributions from a broad range of disciplines. Areas of interest include:

As a unique feature of the journal, each published paper will be accompanied by a one page summary, designed to illustrate the paper’s relevance for practitioners and city authorities. A forum of experienced city leaders and practitioners will be asked to review and comment on these summaries.

Please see the call for papers to find out more about the journal aims and scope, as well as how to submit a paper.

If you would like more information or wish to get involved with the journal, please contact Susan or anyone on the editorial board.
